How to Handle the "Why" of Life - Tea Talk

Happy Blessed Tuesday! Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the internet.

Have you ever asked yourself "Why is this happening"? I'm sure we all have asked this question time and time again when something doesn't go the way we planned. I'm not ashamed to say I have! Life has a funny way of making us wonder "Why"?

Lately, I've been thinking about my own "Why" and I have realized just how much "Why" crosses my mind.

Why is work is busy, I'm exhausted?
Why won't it stop snowing already?
Why are people so rude?
Why does my to-do list always seem never ending?
Why did I not wake up earlier?
WHY are we still in this pandemic?

It's human nature to question worldly things but what good does it do? Sure, I have moments of my day when I cycle through the many whys that we all endure. We continue to ask "Why" something has a different outcome than we planned. We go around and around about why, when deep down we know it won't change the circumstance. With that being said, I've come to the conclusion that why is an open ended question that more times than none will not get us an answer.

So what do we do about it? It came to me that we have no need to ask "Why" when we have faith. I'm sure you didn't see that coming but you should have known I had a bright side to all of this "why-ing".

Faith is the solution to your "Why". Perhaps those why questions that pop into our heads and make us question ourselves, our lives and people around us are just whispers of negative thoughts. Maybe, just maybe our faith is being tested and instead of sitting around basking in why, we could be using that energy to just trust that all things will work out for the better. Maybe why doesn't matter at all.

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” John 14:27

Sometimes God has totally different plans for us, and while we had our entire day, month or year planned out, He giggles at us because things are not going to play out that way. Once you get past that why, and understand that the answer is having faith, your loud why statements in your mind become a lot quieter. Instead of asking why to everything, you begin saying...

Work may be busy but I have faith that soon I will have rest.
It is still snowing but I'm grateful to live in a State with 4 seasons.
People can be rude but I will show them kindness anyway.
I have a lot on my to-do list but I will do the best I can to get these tasks done.
I overslept today, but tomorrow I believe I can do better.
It is still a pandemic but I have faith that God will provide and protect during this time.

Do you see what I did? I took those negative whys that I ask myself and turned them into faith statements! We have nothing to worry about nor fear once we get out of our own head and just have faith. God so wants us to trust in him.

"Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:10

During our seasons of why, He just wants us to take a moment, stop running ourselves crazy questioning everything and just say...

God's got my back!
I have faith in this circumstance!
Right now, I may not understand or see His plans clearly but I know it will be for good!

Stop why-ing yourself crazy. Instead pray about it. If your not into prayer, meditate on positive thinking just how I reversed those negative statements into positive statements above. Find something that works for you to free yourself from the burden on WHY

You will feel so much lighter.

“I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears.” Psalm 34:4

20 Random Facts About Me

Happy Thursday! Clearly there is no rhyme or reason to when I post at this point. When I first started, I had this whole structured plan but that seemed a bit too stuffy, so now I post what feels good, when it feels right! Anyhow, I thought it would be interesting to share 20 random facts about myself. I seem that see that as a common post on most blogs, and a fun read! Here we go... My fiancĂ© and I met because we were best friends in high school. We started dating our senior year and have been together for over 10 years. The day we get married this year will be 11!  I have a 5 1/2 year old Dog, who I still refer to as my Pup. He's a Schnauzer/Terrier mix and he's the biggest diva I know lol.  I love crafting, which I'm pretty sure I inherited from my Mom. She's really into restoring furniture and sewing. I prefer knitting best, but I don't discriminate.  Remember the show Glee? That was me in Middle School & High School. I was an all out Choir Girl and t...

I'm a Christian But ... - Tea Talk

Happy Tuesday to those who have taken the time to stop by my little corner of the internet!  Whelp, I'm about to get deep. Fair warning.  Recently, I have been thinking more & more about how awesome God is to love us despite our many flaws. He made us in his image and continues to love and protect us even though most days, we fall short.  My family has always been believers in God. While we may not have always been avid church goers, I have always known who God was and that everything I have is thanks to him. My Mom has always been a prayer warrior, and instilled in me very young to PRAY and seek God for everything. Every night I find her on her knees praying before bed. If I could describe an earthy Angel, it would be my Mom. Speaking of Angels, I think of my Paternal Grandfather, who we called Papa. He was a man of faith through & through, most of his days were spent reading his Bible, that he read front to back time and time again. As he got older, he would li...
