Friday Favorites

It's Friday! Man, I've been waiting all week to say that lol. As I mentioned the other day, I've been so tired and meh this week. I need some time to reflect on my Friday Favorites more than ever.
  1. Blogging. I'm really proud of myself for doing this and sticking to it so far. Tea time with Hil has turned out to be a great outlet for me. Shout out to all my friends and family who tune in every week to support 💗!
  2. Tea. Again, I'm living for tea right now. It's really been my go-to lately and has been calming my nerves.
  3. My New Scarf. My co-worker who happens to be one of my Bestie's bought me a beautiful cashmere scarf from Scotland. I finally wore it this week, and just wearing it gave me happy vibes. And it's pink; I love all things pink.
  4. Happy Notes. So if you're a planner person you know all about the Happy Planner series. It's cool because you can add and remove pages. Well instead of the planner, I've gone with the notebooks and I'm loving them. I have 5, for various things lol. One of them I am currently using for Goal Setting. If you need a new notebook that has a lot of versatility, check out Happy Notes.
  5. November. The fact that today is the first day of November is giving me life. First off, my birthday is this month, Thanksgiving, Black Friday and... I can play CHRISTMAS MUSIC. I am in my element!
  6. The Sopranos. I started watching this show on Monday and I'm loving it. I didn't think I would but I do.
  7. The Decade Series. So I mentioned this before but I've been watching the Decade Series on Netflix. I've finished the 70's-90's and Monday I started the last segment, the 2000's. I have 7 episodes to go, hoping I can finish that up this weekend. I've really been enjoying it. I wish there was more to the series though, like 20's-60's as well but maybe one day!
  8. Patsy & Loretta. So Lifetime premiered this movie 2 weeks ago. I loved, loved, LOVED it. We all know Lifetime movies are hit or miss. This one was a hit. If you are a country music fan or even someone who is interested in history, check it out. There was a great underlying story of friendship that I really enjoyed.
  9. Music. If you know me, you know I love music. I think most people love music but I have a special connection with it being that I use to sing. Every now and then, I dust off the old pipes and have a jam session and that is exactly what I did on Tuesday night. One song in particular that I totally resonated with was Scars to Your Beautiful by Alessia Cara, which isn't new by any means but it's a beautiful song and was just what I needed earlier this week.
  10. Prayer. My life has changed tremendously over the past year because I have really started leaning on prayer (God) more than ever. I pray about everything, any time of day. It's almost like venting but venting to a higher power. I've been praying a lot this week and it always helps me feel at peace.

I'm a Christian But ... - Tea Talk

Happy Tuesday to those who have taken the time to stop by my little corner of the internet!  Whelp, I'm about to get deep. Fair warning.  Recently, I have been thinking more & more about how awesome God is to love us despite our many flaws. He made us in his image and continues to love and protect us even though most days, we fall short.  My family has always been believers in God. While we may not have always been avid church goers, I have always known who God was and that everything I have is thanks to him. My Mom has always been a prayer warrior, and instilled in me very young to PRAY and seek God for everything. Every night I find her on her knees praying before bed. If I could describe an earthy Angel, it would be my Mom. Speaking of Angels, I think of my Paternal Grandfather, who we called Papa. He was a man of faith through & through, most of his days were spent reading his Bible, that he read front to back time and time again. As he got older, he would li...

The Art of saying "No" - Tea Talk

I know I'm not the only one who has struggled with saying "NO" at times. This was actually something I actively worked in this year and I feel that I've gotten a lot better but even so, it still can be hard to say not without feeling guilty. I realized I struggle with this over a year ago. I had constant back-to-back lunches and dinners, etc. scheduled with friends and family. Everything was so close together, I was struggling with having time to myself to regroup. Finally, when things slowed down, I realized just how exhausted I was. Also, I realized all of the money I used from constantly having outings so close together. It was then that it clicked; I could've said no . I could've easily say "hey, this month I am booked but maybe next month". Why didn't I do that? Guilt. I felt like I was being anti-social or letting people down who clearly wanted to hang out with me. But you know, that wasn't fair to me. I've said this before, b...
